Eunice E. Edmunds, 97, of Blue Mound, IL passed away on Friday (Feb. 17, 2012) at the Eastern Star Home in Macon, IL.
A service to celebrate Eunice’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday (Feb. 21, 2012) at First Christian Church of Blue Mound. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday at Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Blue Mound. Order of the Eastern Star service will be held at 8:00 p.m. following visitation. Burial will be in Hall Cemetery, Blue Mound. Memorial contributions may be directed to the First Christian Church of Blue Mound or the Blue Mound Memorial Library.
Mrs. Edmunds was born on December 28, 1914 in Taylorville, IL, the daughter of John D. and Ida F. (Harris) Weerts. Eunice was a member of the First Christian Church of Blue Mound, Order of the Eastern Star #327, Blue Mound Women’s Club and the Macon County Home Extension. Eunice was the first woman Elder of the First Church of Blue Mound and was a State Officer for the Christian Women’s Fellowship. She married Russell Edmunds on July 25, 1934. He preceded her in death on May 2, 1992.
Surviving are her sons: R. David Edmunds and his wife Sally of Richardson, TX, Gail R. Edmunds and Cara East of Brentwood, MO; grandchildren: Colin Edmunds and his mother Ann Edmunds, Kate Edmunds, LeAnne Edmunds and Brooke (James) Adams; great grandchildren: Emmaline Adams and Garrett Adams.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son: Joseph Edmunds and brother: Bernard Weerts.
